Amber is one of the oldest and still popular jewelry and healing stones in the world. Amber feels sensual and warm, and it is surprisingly light. You will want to touch it, wear on the skin, touch as the hand mascot or charm.

Total travel distance is ~ 850 km.

1 day. Arrival to Riga Airport
Take the rental car at Riga Airport. Night in hotel of Riga.

2 day. Riga
After breakfast city tour in Riga. A fascinating cultural city with colossal brick churches, 800 Art Nouveau houses, interesting wooden buildings and storage, a historic old town in UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the tour you will see the old town, the cathedral with the largest organ in Europe and Cathedral Square, St. Peter's Church, the Swedish Gate and the old fortification. Night in hotel of Riga.

3 day. Riga - Jurmala - Tukums - Kandava - Ventspils (~ 187 km)
After breakfast, a trip to Jurmala. Jurmala is the largest seaside resort in the Baltic countries with a long history of health resort. The pride of the town of Jurmala are: healing mineral baths, pine forests, healthy air beach, dunes and sandy beaches that extend to 32.8 km. Jurmala is called "the city on the waves ," in which everyone gladly return back. Continue to Tukums. Tukums is a historically significant city in Kurzeme. It has a long tradition and is the city of forge. The city's Tukums attractions: the Castle Tower and Museum , the Protestant Church and town castle Durbe. Trip to Ventspils through Kandava. There already begins the Amber Road. At a modern Ventspils Museum, founded in the former castle, of the Livonian Order and housing various collections, there are some samples of archaelogical amber finds. Overnight in Ventspils.

4 day. Ventspils  - Pavilosta - Liepaja (~ 130 km)
Breakfast. We continue our Baltic Amber way to Pavilosta - a calm unspoiled spot by the Baltic sea. The Baltic Sea after strong spring and autumn stormy winds washes ashore quite a lot of amber here. There are 5-6 permanent amber catchers in Pavilosta. Pavilosta is "decorated " with the red amber, which is generously flushed from the sea to the beach. Today Pavilosta is known as a popular place for sailing and windsurfing , as well as the summer holiday. Harbor, moorings, the great sea stones, the untouched nature and the rough sea air attract creative people. Continue to Liepaja . Liepaja is known in Latvia as the capital of rock music and as a city with a particularly creative atmosphere for musicians and artists. On the promenade beside the canal Tirdzniecibas you can see the clock from amber. The clock is 4 meters high and is made ​​up of small pieces of amber. Today we explore Liepaja on the sightseeing tour and visit Liepaja History and Art Museum, which is rich in various collections: archaeological finds, ethnography of the Southern Curonia, Liepaja of the medieval period and the 19-20th centuries, and a small exposition of amber. Overnight stay  in Liepaja hotel.

5 day. Liepaja - Nida - Sventoji - Palanga (~ 75 km)
After breakfast we continue the trip to Palanga through Nida and Šventoji. In the village of Nida (near the Lithuanian - Latvian border) you can visit Fisherman „Gaigalas“. Afterwards we cross the border to Lithuania and after 4 km we see Žemaičių Alkas in Šventoji. Žemaičių Alkas is an attempt to reconstruct an ancient Samogitian pagan shrine with a paleoastronomical observatory. In ancient times, Lithuanians would gather at such shrines to pray and make offerings to the gods. Nowadays, is celebrating the pagan festivals there. Once celebrated as the beginning of pasturage, today the Jore Day attracts both society members and tourists by its rituals and ceremonies, during which offerings of amber dust are made to the gods. As last for today we visit the Šventoji treasure – an old fisherman's settlement by the mouth of the Šventoji River. One of the most interesting Stone Age amber treasures found here in 1966-1976. The finds of the excavation are exhibited at the Lithuanian National Museum and the Palanga Amber Museum. Palanga is a city that is one of the best resorts not only in Lithuania, but also in the entire Baltic region. This is the richest city in this route ''The Baltic Amber Road''. In the 19th century Palanga has became a major center of amber processing industry. Nowadays you can visit Amber Museum. Overnight stay in hotel of Palanga.

6 day. Palanga - Karkle -Klaipeda – Juodkrante - Nida (~ 85 km)
Breakfast. Trip through Karklė to Klaipėda. Scientists say that amber is currently being ejected abundant on the coast of Karklė in the Seaside Regional Park. There is also an informational presentation of Amber history, characteristics, colors and etc. Klaipėda is the only port city, the industrial, commercial and cultural center in the western part of Lithuania. It is not only the oldest city, but also a total one of the oldest cities on the eastern Baltic. Here You will see: Theatre Square with a sculpture of "Annie of Tharaw", the Old Market Square, Jonah Hill, the Old Post Office, the cruise ship terminal and etc. The archaeological finds of amber you can see in the Museum of Lithuania Minor. In ancient times, amber necklaces have been used not only as decoration , but also as money.  The lunch break you can make in Friedrich Willhelm Passage. Continue trip to the Curonian Spit. Since 2000, the Curonian Spit is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Neringa's Municipality was the first one in Lithuania to start participating in the Blue Flag program, and already in 2002 Nida's beach was awarded with the Blue Flag. In 2004, Juodkrantė's beach was awarded with the Blue Flag as well. First stop in Juodkrantė on Amber Bay. In the years 1860 to 1890 an average of 7500 kg per year was won in Juodkrantė. But later, the extraction of amber fell sharply. Worth a visit is the Hill of Witches and cormorant colony. On the way can visit the Dead dunes at Pervalka. Arrival in Nida. Night in a guesthouse.

7 day. Nida
All day will be spent in Nida. The town is an up market holiday resort. You can walk through the all Nida quay. Attractions in Nida: the high dune with sundial, traditional fishermen's houses, Evangelical Church, the promenade along the harbor, the lighthouse, the Amber Gallery, historic cemetery, Thomas Mann House. Or visit the Mizgiriai Amber Gallery - Museum. There is a large collection of cetificated Amber. Overnight in a guest house of Nida. You can also surf, sailing, cycling, enjoy boat trip or just lie on the beach. Enjoy the day in Nida. Overnight in a guest house in Nida.

8 day. Nida - Kaunas - Vilnius (~ 357 km)
After breakfast continue trip to Kaunas - the second largest city in Lithuania. The city is famous for its old town with the town hall, the cathedral and and it's charming and famous pedestrian zone “Laisvės alėja" (Avenue of Freedom). Trip continue to the capital city of Lithuania - Vilnius. Night in a hotel of Vilnius.

9 day. Vilnius
After breakfast city tour in Vilnius. You will see the Town Hall Square, the Peter and Paul Church, the famous Pilies Street, Cathedral Square, the Gate of Dawn, the University district and etc. According to the wishes is an opportunity to visit the Trakai Castle (Seeburg) in the afternoon. The Castle of Trakai is located about 26 km from Vilnius. This unique complex is located in a beautiful place on the island, which is surrounded by lakes. Night in a hotel of Vilnius.

10 day. Departure from Vilnius
Car return in Vilnius airport or city.
